On the heels of Zoomas cancellation, Trey Anastasio plans to announce a reworked summer tour. Last night, Superfly Presents and AC Entertainment pulled the plug on Zooma, a proposed traveling festival headlined by Anastasio and Ben Harper. Other acts confirmed for the summer outing included Medeski, Martin and Wood, Gomez, Jurassic 5 and Les Claypool, among many others. In a message posted on Zoomas webpage, the traveling festivals promoters said: Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has become clear that it would not be possible to provide that experience at the level initially envisioned. Rather than go forward with a tour that falls short of what was conceived, everyone involved has mutually agreed that it is best to cancel the tour altogether. Less than a month before Zooma-kicked off, none of the festivals performances had sold-out and choice seats were still available in several major markets. Anastasio plans to announce a full summer-tour in the coming weeks. Oddly enough, news of Zoomas cancellation arrived a day after the one-year anniversary of Anastasio’s announcement that Phish would part ways after Coventry.
