On Saturday, Govt Mules Voodoo Caravan Tour intersected with WDSTs 25th Anniversary Mountain Jam at New Yorks Hunter Mountain. Rolling the Mules traveling festival into its daylong celebration, the Mountain Jam featured Govt Mule, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, MMW, Joey Eppard, Xavier Rudd, Jonah Smith, Stoney Clove and the Trapps. Mules performance peaked with a fitting take on the Allman Brothers Mountain Jam. During Govt Mules headlining set, Haynes also invited John Medeski onstage for versions of Bob Marleys Lively up Yourself and Sco-Mule, while Eppard supplied background vocals for Stoney Clove on the Relix Jam Stage. After Robert Randolph invited Haynes onstage for an extended portion of his set, Govt Mule returned the favor by bringing the sacred steel guitarist out for When Things Go Wrong and 32/20 Blues. A day earlier, Randolph also collaborated with Govt Mule on Many rivers to Cross and Ramblin Gamblin Man in Boston, MA.
