Yonder Mountain String Bands sets at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival turned into extended super jams of sorts featuring many of the weekends performers. On Friday, Darol Anger sat in throughout the groups extended set which opened with Traffic Jam. Halfway through the groups performance Sam Bush and Vince Herman also emerged on fiddle and vocals, respectively, for No Expectations. Bush remained onstage for the rest of the groups set, which ran through If There’s Still Ramblin’ in the Rambler (Let Him Go), Red Bird, Little Rabbit, If Youre Ever In Oklahoma, Troubled Mind and Dear Prudence. During Yonders late-night set-two additional high profile guests joined the group onstage: Nickel Creeks Chris Thile and Bela Fleck, who ripped a ripe solo on Dawns Early Life. In addition to a set with his new acoustic trio, Fleck also teamed with legends Stanley Clarke and Jean-Luc Ponty for an hour and 15-minute performance which also saw a surprise cameo from Bobby McFerrin.
