String Cheese Incident concluded its performance at Brooklyn, NYs Prospect Park by reviving its long dormant cover of the Beastie Boys No Sleep Til Brooklyn. A fitting final jam, String Cheese Incident also invited Michael Franti and Umphreys McGees Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss onstage, offering the later two musicians the microphone for a humorous rap. As Franti shifted the chorus to more trees in Brooklyn, a series of costume-clad tree dancers also emerged to help String Cheese close out its set.
Earlier in the day, Umphreys McGee also sparred with a troupe of dancers, in addition to frequent guest Carl Young, during Professor Wormbog, kicking off a busy day of collaborations. Michael Kang joined Spearhead on fiddle for the second portion of its set, coloring songs like Everybody on the Move, Sometimes and EDM. As is now a tradition, Keller Williams offered an interlocking set, gradually bringing members of Yonder Mountain String Band onstage until the two bands performed a joint version of Steve Miller Bands Fly Like an Eagle. Later, Bill Nershi joined Yonder Mountain String Band on acoustic guitar for Neil Youngs Everybody Knows this is Nowhere and Jesus on the Mainline.
