Ropeadope Podcasts The Frow Show and Cold Turkey
Podcasting is the trend of the day and the good folks at Ropeadope are rallying behind the new technology. Ropeadope has recently launched its own podcasting section featuring a variety of scene approved sounds. Perhaps the online worlds answer to the radio show, a podcast is a homespun blend of music and DJ commentary which can be uploaded to any MP3 player or streamed online. Several Jambands.com and Relix staffers are currently hosting their own programs (alas not our illustrious site editor who at present can only be heard on XM Satellite Radios weekly Jam Nation program). Jesse Jarnows The Frow Show debuted a few weeks ago, featuring headphone favorites, obscurities from stand-bys like Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, and Wilco and cuts from unsigned acts like the Song Coporation and John Biz. Benjy Eisen and Mike Greenhaus also recently debuted their Cold Turkey which offers a mix of exclusive interviews, choice tracks and, of course, Relix/Jambands.com approved news. The show’s current offering finds the jamband journalists rapping with Les Claypool, Keller Williams, Gabby La La and Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss while cleaning off their muddy boots backstage at last weekend’s All Good Festival.
