July 31 marks the one year anniversary of Dispatchs final performance. To mark the occasion, the Boston-based trio will release The Last Dispatch today, a feature film account of the twelve-days leading up to the groups final performance, exclusively at Bostons Somerville Theater. Dispatch built a solid grassroots following through years of touring focusing special attention on the northeast college and prep school circuit (indeed the groups liberal arts tour ran through Contributing Editor Mike Greenhaus radio program during his not so distant days in academia). Tomorrow former Dispatch guitarist Chad Urmston will perform with his new band State Radio at Wellfleet, MAs The Beachcomber. Sunday morning all three members of Dispatch will also autograph a limited edition poster at the Somerville with proceeds benefiting the group’s Elias fund.
