This weekend, Strangers Helping Strangers will be on hand at the Gathering of the Vibes facilitating a non-perishable food drive. In addition to canned goods, concertgoers are encouraged to bring baby formula, baby food, diapers, toiletries and other personal hygiene products. SHS representatives will be located in the Non-Profit Area on the main concert field and also at the main gate. The items collected will then be directed to the Schenectady Inner City Ministries (SICM), Schenectady County’s regional food bank. The Vibes will take place at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, NY, and to continue our Garcia/Grateful Dead news thread, will indeed feature a tribute to the music of Garcia and the Dead hosted by the Dark Star Orchestra.
