Jim Weider may be best known for his fifteen year stint with the Band. However, even while he was still touring with that group he maintained a solo career. Earlier this month the guitarist released his third recording since his final appearance with the Band in 2000. Percolator is an instrumental groove session featuring including Tony Levin on bass, John Medeski and John Holbrook on keys, Rodney Holmes on drums and Carlos Valdez on percussion. Weiders ProJECT PERCoLAToR will perform a series of dates over the coming weeks, including next Wednesday at The Cutting Room in New York City with Levin and Valdez joining him along with Randy Ciarlante on drums and Jesse Gress on guitar.
