Metzger, Holloway Ride the Mule

On Wednesday, Govt Mule offered an entirely acoustic set at Washington, DCs DAR Constitution Hall, highlighted by Warren Haynes Jerry Garcia-eulogy Patchwork Quilt and the Rolling Stones Wild Horses. Later on, frequent-Allman Brothers Band woodwinds collaborator Ron Holloway emerged for version of Sco-Mule, continuing to enhance the group for most of its second set. Dirty Dozen Brass Band trumpeter Efrem Towns also joined Holloway on select songs including the encore of Dreams to Remember. On Saturday, while performing at Albanys Palace Theater, Govt Mule was also joined by RANAs Scott Metzger for a cover of the Byrds Almost Cut My Hair. Govt Mule will perform tomorrow at Portland, MEs The State Theater, with Tea Leaf Green supplying opening duties.
