Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay To Join Dark Star Orchestra For Rex Benefit
Tomorrow at Washington D.C.s 9:30 Club, Dark Star Orchestra will perform a show to benefit the Rex Foundation. The evening is the latest in a series of Black Tie Dye Balls, which is appropriate since the late DSO keyboardist Scott Larned is credited with naming the event. The night will include a silent auction, with proceeds from a Bob Weir-signed Ibanez acoustic guitar directed to Larned’s daughter. Other rare, collectible Grateful Dead items also will be part of the auction, with proceeds to aid a number of area programs: Community Harvest, Perry School Community Services Center, The Washington Jazz Arts Institute, The Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Program of Disabled Sports USA.
