Since 2000, the Dave Matthews Band and Soulive have collaborated regularly, both in the studio and on the stage. As expected, while opening for Dave Matthews Band this weekend, Soulives Eric Krasno got on the collaboration action joining the evenings headliner on both Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, at Detroits Joe Louis Arena, Matthews invited Krasno out for Too Much and Smooth Rider deep into the groups single set performance. A night later at Torontos Air Canada Centre, Krasno added some space to Old Dirt Hill and Along the Watchtower. Soulive/Yerba Buena trumpeter Rashawn Ross also appeared with DMB throughout the weekend, as well as its tour opening performance at Minneapolis, MNs Target Center. Ross sparred with woodwinds player Leroi Moore on a number of songs including Louisiana Bayou, Stay, Jimi Thing and Dancing Nancies.
