As we approach the final day of Jambands.com news for the year we share news of a Book/CD set that somehow eluded our purview upon its release last month. Sandra Boynton, best known for her artwork which adorns an estimated 4000-6000 greeting cards also has published a few childrens books and has released a few albums of her own compositions with guest players. The latest, Dog Train, features such artists as Alison Krauss, Hootie & the Blowfish, Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler along with two Jammys-worthy collaborations: Weird Al Yankovic & Kate Winslet (I Need a Nap) and The Bacon Brothers with Mickey Hart (Pots and Pans). The package includes a 64 page book and 50 minutes of what we feel we can safely characterize as be the best music written by someone whose artwork adorns an estimated 4000-6000 greeting cards.
