A banner year for the jam-titans, which included numerous song breakouts and headlining spots at a range of national festivals, Friday also marked Widespread Panics first appearance at the Philips Arena since beginning its road hiatus at the venue in 2003. Earlier this month, Widespread Panic also announced that its original song, Perfect Hair Forever, would be featured on a cartoon program of the same name as part of the networks Adult Swim block. So it seemed appropriate for the group to nod to Cartoon Networks popular Adult Swim program during its New Years stunt. Throughout the night, the group offered various animated segments on the venues jumbo screens, including a humorous cartoon on Dave Schools. As 2006 approached, Adult Swims

Aqua Teen Hunger Force performed the New Years countdown, before Widespread Panic performed a geographically appropriate renditions of ‘Georgia on My Mind’ and Midnight Train to Georgia. In addition, Widespread Panic offered a rare acoustic set at the start of its show featuring covers like(Sitting on) The Dock of the Bay and originals such as Blue Indian.
