In 2005 Atlantas Music Midtown moved from its traditional May weekend to June 10-12. This years change will be even more dramatic as the festival promoters have announced that the event will not return due to the expenses incurred by the event. Over the past twelve years, Music Midtown alumnae have included: Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy, Widespread Panic, Govt Mule, RatDog, Derek Trucks Band, String Cheese Incident, Medeski Martin & Wood, The Disco Biscuits, Sound Tribe Sector 9 and many others. Still while Promoter Peter Conlon has indicated that this years event is off, he has left open the possibility of its return in some form down the road, provided he can secure a larger site with better access to Atlanta’s citywide rail system.
