Two of Chicagos most prominent names will join forces for a succession of dates in late-February. Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, who also plays in Loose Fur with Jim ORourke and Jeff Tweedy, will open for Umphreys McGee twice in late February, setting the stage for the first collaboration between the divergent groups. On February 24, Kotche will provide support duties at St. Louis, Missouris The Pageant, returning a night later for an opening performance at Indianapolis Murat Egyptian Room. Before then Kotche will support Tweedy on a number of his solo dates beginning with a January 31 appearance at Vancouver, BC Commodore Ballroom. Umphreys McGees has also announced that its next studio album , Safety in Numbers, will drop on April 4.
