Last night Mike Gordon picked up a bass and returned to the stage for a set of music. The bass wasn’t his, the stage was the Corner at the Middle East restaurant in Cambridge, MA and the set lasted 20 minutes but he did indeed perform. Mike attended the Monday Open Mike night, joining local musician Eleanor Murray, who appeared on acoustic and vocals for three songs. After initially stating that he didn’t have a mandolin, he volunteered to join her on a borrowed bass guitar. The brief set featured three original songs by Murray. After Gordon departed, the following performer offered a brief serenade, tuning up to ‘Fluffhead.’ Reporting by Randy Ray
