In what could very well be the first Jambands.com sit-in report from the Potato State (that’s Idaho to you), New Monsoon and Hot Buttered Rum’s mutual support continued Monday night at Ketchum’s Whiskey Jacques. During New Monsoon’s set, guitarist Nat Keefe joined his tourmates on ‘Spanish Moon,’ with Bryan Horne later adding bass to ‘Get Behind The Mule.’
During Hot Buttered Rum’s performance, New Monsoon keyboardist Phil Ferlino also added accordion to the Beatles’ ‘Norwegian Wood,’ while drummer Marty Ylitalo augmented both ‘I’m Still Here’ and ‘Once Knew A Girl.’ Later, Ben Bernstein supplied vocals and guitar to ‘Buckets of Rain,’ with Keefe switching over to mandolin. New Monsoon and Hot Buttered Rum’s double bill will continue tonight at Eugene, OR WOW Hall.
