On February 14, 1992, the Big Wu performed its first official show at Northfield, MNs The Lion’s Pause. According to the all-knowing Petrified Wu, three songs from this inaugural gig are known: Eyes of the World, Southbound and Franklin’s Tower. At the performance, local promoter Brent Day also essentially signed’ the group, leading to a series of gigs at the Upstairs Rueb-n-Stein. So, while today officially marks the groups anniversary, the Big Wu has decided to celebrate its birthday on Thursday with its first performance at the Rueb-n-Stein since 1999. The group also promises special guests from past Wu-lineups, perhaps including onetime Jambands.com columnist Jason Fladager.
