‘I think every musician dreams of doing The Last Waltz and I’m in a unique position, having so many friends in the business. My imagination went wild and this is what happened!’
So says Kris Gloer (Houndog) of his concept to create a band whose sole intention is to salute this historic rock landmark performance. Their sold out, debut performance at Smiths Olde Bar this past November garnered instant raves and a sea of street buzz. Now a version of this salute group featuring a slew of Atlanta musicians will appear at the Georgia Theater on March 3. Rick Richards (Georgia Satellites, Izzy Stradlins Ju Ju Hounds), Brad Thomas (Bluestring), Greg Hestor, The Sundogs and David Fish are among the artists scheduled to appear. however Gloer also intends to expose people to lesser known up and coming musicians.

‘The Last Waltz is classic rock history. Gloer says, We’re striking a really responsive chord with audiences and selling out great music rooms. 2006 is the 30th anniversary of the Martin Scorsese film commemorating the history and music of The Band. We feel like we’ve got some serious karma flowing!’
The karma will flow back to Smiths Olde Bar for an additional performance April 7. Report by Rob Turner
