moe., Blues Traveler, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Peter Frampton and Joe Satriani are among the artists scheduled to appear at the 2006 Jammy Awards. As previously reported, the Jammys will return to New Yorks Theater at Madison Square Garden on April 20, kicking off the inaugural Green Apple Music and Arts Festival. Other acts confirmed to play the Jammys include Guster, Savion Glover, Richie Havens, Angelique Kidjo, Steve Kimock, Stephen Perkins, Bettye LaVette, Little Feat, DJ Logic, Mad Professor, Baaba Maal, Martin Sexton and McCoy Tyner. Dweezil Zappa will also pay tribute to his father, Frank Zappa, who is being posthumously honored with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

‘This is a great core, but there is a lot more coming,’ hints Peter Shapiro, Executive Producer of the Jammys. ‘We are looking forward to a great show this year.’
Once again, the Jammys will boast a number of unique collaborations, as well as a handful of surprise guests. Last year’s Jammys pairings included Burning Spear and Sinead O’Connor with Medeski Martin & Wood, Travis Tritt with the Disco Biscuits, Mavis Staples with Umphrey’s McGee and Phil Lesh with Ryan Adams. Lesh also participated in a blues jam featuring John Mayer, ?uestlove and Buddy Guy, the recipient of last years Lifetime Achievement Award. More information regarding the Green Apple Music and Arts Festival will be announced in the near future.
