The Dave Matthews Band will take centerfield in Fenway Park for two evenings this summer. The group will become only the fourth band to play Boston’s historic Fenway Park when it headlines a pair of performances on July 7 and 8 with Sheryl Crow supplying support duties (bonus question: name the other three groups to perform complete concerts at Fenway- answer below).

On the heels of the announcement that it will return to New York’s Randall’s
Island in August, the Dave Matthews Band has also added a handful of support
acts to its multi-day festival. Slightly Stoopid and Tea Leaf Green will play
the venue’s side stage on both August 5 and 6, while Gov’t Mule, David Gray
and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones will split mainstage support duties. In other
opener news, Soulive has announced that it will support the DMB
quintet at Hartford’s Meadows on July 28 (quiz answer: the group will be in select company that includes: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jimmy Buffett and the Rolling Stones- although rumors persist that Pearl Jam may also make an appearance this summer).
