The Lowdown on Snoe.Down

Over the weekend, moe. took to the slopes, hosting its second Snoe.Down festival in Lake Placid, NY. In addition to several performances by moe., the multi-day gathering featured sets by the Assembly of Dust, Tea Leaf Green, Soulive, James Hunter, U-Melt and a Jon Fishman-bolstered version of the Everyone Orchestra. During the Assembly of Dusts performance, Steve Kimock emerged for a version of Speculator, while U-Melt welcomed Conehead Buddha saxophonist Shannon Lynch onstage for The Eternal Groove. Winter-sports enthusiasts were also treated to skiing, ice skating and Verizons luge challenge.

As expected, moe. brought many of its musical guests onstage during its final performance at the Herb Brooks Arena. During Mexico, pedal steel guitarist Gordon Stone and Assembly of Dust keyboardist Nate Wilson both appeared on the moe. original Mexico, while Reid Genauer supplied vocals to a cover of Grateful Deads Deal. Later in the set, Fishman joined moe.s percussion duo for a drum-duel leading out of Brent Black.
Always the most social of hosts, the members of moe. made guest appearance with a number of other acts throughout the weekend. During the Everyone Orchestras set, Al Schnier, Jim Loughlin, Rob Derhak and Vinnie Amico joined the Everyone Orchestra’s open-jam. Tea Leaf Greens Trevor Garrod also joined the revolving collective for a cover of Under the Boardwalk. In addition, Amico also played drums with longtime friend Gordon Stone during his performance. moe.s next scheduled performance will take place at Chillicothe, ILs Summer Camp on May 26.
