Funk musicians from all corners of the country will team-up for a benefit performance on April 30 at New Orleans Howlin Wolf. Taking place during JazzFest, the supergroup, dubbed Jamakazi, will feature George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Russell Batiste, Skerik, Ian Neville, Adam Detich and a number of surprise guests. A benefit for Music Cares/Music Rising, all profits from the jam-session will benefit those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Earlier that evening, another all-star band consisting of Leo Nocentelli, Stanton Moore, Rich Vogel and Rob Mercurio will perform also perform at the Howlin Wolf.
