In an unprecedented move, preceded only bywella few precedents, The Greyboy Allstars have come back together and will hit the stage this evening in Asheville, NC at the Orange Peel. This is an extraordinary development for souljazz fans who have to look all the way back to February of 2006 for the last time that Karl Denson, Robert Walter, Chris Stillwell, Elgin Park and Zak Najor appeared together. Those reunion shows came on the heels of a reunion in November 2005, which followed an extraordinary return in January, February, April and May of 2004, after the bands triumphant reconciliation in August of 2003 following their 2002 reunion after GBA parted ways in 1999 (give or take the occasional show or three). Looking ahead, a Happy Friends reunion tour is scheduled for May and then again for June.
