A documentary film that traces the history of fabled New York City nightclub Wetlands Preserve, will close out the Green Apple Music and Arts festival. The world premiere of Wetlands Preserved: The Story of an Activist Rock Club will take place on Sunday, April 23, 6:30PM at New Yorks Ziegfeld Theater. The film incorporates archival footage, soundboard recordings and the efforts of a dozen digital animators to chronicle the clubs tenure from February 1989 through September 2001. Wetlands Preserved features music from Phish, Blues Traveler, moe., The Disco Biscuits, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Ben Harper, Spearhead, 311, Ani DiFranco, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Spin Doctors, Fishbone, Agnostic Front and many additional artists. The film was directed by site editor Dr. Dean Budnick (who aside from being a longtime Wetlands denizen, wrote his Harvard doctoral dissertation on the films of Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle).
