The Jammy Awards continues to heat up. Recent additions to the sixth annual award show—-scheduled to take place on April 20—-include ‘2001’ composer Deodato (who will offer a percussion-enhanced version of one of his most notable songs), as well as Big Lebowski inspiration Jeff ‘the Dude’ Dowd, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame president Terry Stewart, Dead Archivist David Lemieux and Phish Archivist Kevin Shapiro (not to be confused with Jammys producer Peter Shapiro, though we are crossing our fingers for a Jammys-style industry collaboration). In addition, Zappa Plays Zappa featuring Dwezel Zappa will headline BB King Blues Club’s Jammys post-party, offering the first official interpretation of Frank Zappa’s music since the guitarist’s passing. Recent New Groove of the month U-Melt will perform in the venue’s second room, Lucille’s.
