Stanton Moore has finished recording his next studio album, which will feature organist Robert Walter and guitarist Will Bernard, as well special guests Dr. Lonnie Smith, Skerik and Mark Mullins. Recorded at New Orleans’ Preservation Hal, the as-of-yet untitled disc will hit stores later this year.

Moore will remain busy until then. In addition to his previously announced performances with Galactic, Moore will join a number of New Orleans jam sessions throughout JazzFest. On April 28, the drummer will perform with Robert Mercurio, Will Bernard, Robert Walter and Donald Harrison at New Orleans’ Howlin Wolf, before joining the Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s 45th anniversary performance a night later. On April 30, Moore will offer two gigs: a 10 PM show with Leo Nocentelli, Rich Vogel and Robert Mercurio at Howlin’ Wolf and a midnight gig with John Medeski and Will Bernard at DBA. After a ‘relaxing night’ performing with Walter and Bernard at Preservation Hall on May 1, Moore will double dip again on May 2 with an in-store performance at the Louisiana Music Factory scheduled for noon and a jam-session at the Blue Nile at 10 PM. Finally, on May 6, Moore will perform at the Rock and Bowl with Anders Osborne and Le Bon Temps Roulet with his trio.
