Friedman, Barr and Hobbs
The Slip’s Marc Friedman and Andrew Barr will revisit their jazz roots, and pay tribute to their Boston heritage this evening. The rhythm section will perform a set of avant jazz with alto saxophonist Jim Hobbs, one of their longtime heroes. The trio will take the stage at the Roxy tonight, followed by Sound Tribe Sector 9. As of press time, the Slip’s next scheduled appearance is June 3 at Coventry, RI’s Sustainable Living Festival. For more on the Slip be sure to check out Rob Turner’s recent interview with Brad Barr.
