Last night, Ryan Adams performed a solo set at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts. After Adams’ customary mid-show ‘smoke break,’ Phil Lesh’s son, Brian, joined him on guitar for ‘New York, New York.’ As he has throughout the week, Jesse Malin also appeared on ‘Solitaire,’ before performing a solo song of his own . Later in the evening, Adams trucked over to the intimate 12 Galaxies where he performed an extended set with Phil Lesh. The on-again/off-again collaborators ran through a mix of Dead-classics, including ‘Wharf Rat,’ ‘Stella Blue,’ ‘Dire Wolf’ and ‘Help on the Way,’ as well as Adams-originals like ‘Magnolia Mountain’ and ‘Cold Roses.’
On May 2, Lesh will announce his full summer tour schedule, which will include three-weeks of dates with the new union of Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon and the Duo.
