Chris Clemente has been bouncing around Chicago’s music circuit for years, performing with a number of ensembles including his current project, Kick the Cat. In addition, Clemente also appears with Umphrey’s McGee drummer Kris Myers in his side-band, Drop-Q. So, it makes sense that last night, when Kick the Cat opened for Umphrey’s McGee at Urbana, IL’s Canopy Club, Clemente joined Myers onstage. During a jam following ‘Wife Soup,’ Clemente replaced Ryan Stasik, before the longtime Umphrey’s McGee bassist returned for a set closing ‘Higgins.’ Umphrey’s McGee will screen their making of Safety In Numbers documentary at 8:15, before performing at the Canopy Club again tonight.
