As weve reported, Proud Papa Jim Dickinson enlisted sons Luther and Cody Dickinson to join him in the studio for his recent release, Jungle Jim & The Voodoo Tiger. Now the Dickinson boys along with their North Mississippi Allstar bandmate Chris Chew will back Jungle Jim for three shows over the coming week. On Friday night NMAS will join the elder Dickinson at the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis as part of a taping of the new Beale Street Caravan television series. The four musicians will then travel to New York City for two dates at Joe’s Pub on Monday June 5 and Tuesday June 6. No further dates have been announced for the Dickinson Family Players, who may yet add gigs over the course of the summer(although NMAS will spend a number of weeks returning to the road with John Hiatt).
