The Recipes annual festival will take place at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Nelsonville, OH on August 18-20. The Recipe Family Cookout will feature the current incarnation of the band which features stalwarts Joe Prichard, Tom Whelan and Gregg Lowley along with Mike Vitale and the most recent addition, ‘Uncle Eddie’ Mahonen on banjo. The host group has enlisted a number of its favorite players and friends to join the bill, including: Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, One Under and Joe Deninzon’s Stratospheerius. In the spirit of a Family Cookout, it might be interesting if the Recipe were to draw together some of its notable former members for the festival, such as: Kristin Wolverton, Julie Edlow, Hannah Ross, Chris Q and Kris Kehr. Feel free to talk this idea up with the group when it performs this weekend at Nelson Ledges as part of the Burning River Band Family Jam.
