Last night at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, moe. performed the second of four shows with the North Mississippi Allstars. In turn, as might be expected, a collaborative effort provided one of the evenings highlights. At the end of moe.s first set, the Allstars’ Luther Dickinson stepped up to add some southern world boogie to a version of ‘Opium and then remained for the set-closing 32 Things in which Dickinson tossed it around in rapid-fire mode with moe. guitarists Al Schnier and Chuck Garvey. Other notable moments included Schnier picking up an acoustic guitar for a version of Tambourine (as he did at Summer Camp two weeks ago) as well as fully-segued second set that extended from Seat of My Pants to Dr. Graffenburg to Time Ed (which had also served as the show opener) to Seat of My Pants and then back into Recreational Chemistry. moe. and the Allstars are in Philadelphia this evening at the Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing.
