Last night the Dave Matthews Band returned to its home state and welcomed an old friend to the stage. John D’earth, the UVA music professor who played an advisory role in the DMBs early days (and has appeared with the group on multiple occasions over the years) stepped up once again at the end of the set. D’earth added trumpet to the final five songs: So Much To Say, Anyone Seen the Bridge?, Too Much Smooth Rider and Louisiana Bayou. The night closed out with a fireworks display set to Jimi Hendrix’s version of the Star Spangled Banner. The Dave Matthews Band

is in Scranton tonight and at Fenway Park over the weekend.
