Last night at Scranton, PAs Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain (now thats a venue name that rolls off the tongue), Trey Anastasio made another appearance with Phil Lesh and Friends. As at the previous show in Bethel, New York, Anastasio took the stage for the entire second set (Barry Sless sat out set two last night while Greg Osby sat out the second set in Bethel). Anastasio, Lesh and Friends then delivered a segued set that ran from China Cat Sunflower into Magnolia Mountain (NOT ‘Toyota Pavilion at Magnolia Mountain’) and then on through Terrapin Station Morning Dew, The Wheel, Fire on the Mountain. Despite many fans best efforts, no one was able to devise a precise algorithm to determine when Anastasio would appear as one of Phil’s Friends during the co-billed tour with Anastasio, Mike Gordon and the Benevento-Russo Duo (which closes out tonight at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, VT).
