Bloch Booking for Wetlands Preserved in Providence
Wetlands founder Larry Bloch will be on hand for a question and answer session that will follow the screening of Wetlands Preserved on August 10 in Providence. Wetlands Preserved: The Story of an Activist Rock Club, the documentary film that traces the history of his fabled New York City nightclub Wetlands Preserve, will screen at Providences Columbus Theater as part of the Rhode Island Film Festival. Bloch will appear on a panel following the film, which is scheduled to start at 6:45PM on August 10 at the Columbus. Site editor (and the films director) Dean Budnick will participate as well, along with a few additional guests.
Wetlands Preserved, which has been identified as one the festival’s ‘signature films,’ incorporates archival footage, soundboard recordings and the efforts of a dozen digital animators to chronicle the clubs tenure from February 1989 through September 2001. Wetlands Preserved features music from Phish, Blues Traveler, moe., The Disco Biscuits, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Ben Harper, Spearhead, 311, Ani DiFranco, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Spin Doctors, Fishbone, Agnostic Front and many additional artists.
