On Halloween, Tea Leaf Green will release Rock ‘n’ Roll Band, its first DVD. Recorded on May 19 at Boulder, COs Fox Theatre, Rock ‘n’ Roll Band was filmed by Justin Kreutzmann, son of legendary Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, who has tracked the San Francisco quartet for some time. According to Kreutzmanns blog, [Tea Leaf Green] is the first young band I’ve heard in a while that gave me hope that there is a future for Rock and RollI see the film as a cross between the Grateful Dead Movie and _ Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Amusement Park_ or a hybrid of The Last Waltz and the Sex Pistols The Filth and the Fury. Rock ‘n’ Roll Band will also be sold separately as an audio live album.

On other Tea Leaf Green news, on Saturday saxophonist Zack Hexum, who opened a handful of the quartets performances this weekend, joined the group onstage at Los Angeles, CAs Roxy Theatre for Criminal Intent. Tea Leaf Green will appear this weekend at Dave Matthews Randalls Island event, while Kreutzmann will spend the latter part of the summer on the road, documenting the Whos summer tour.
