The elusive, and recently reclusive, Jon Fishman will emerge from semi-retirement this fall. In addition to his previously announced appearances with the Everyone Orchestra, the drummer will perform a pair of shows with the Vermont-based comedy/rock troupe Touchpants. Fishman will appear with Touchpants on October 13 at Bostons Harper’s Ferry and October 14 at New Yorks Knitting Factory. The drummers longtime comrade J. Willis Pratt is also on the bill for both club performances.
As previously reported, Fishman will back Page McConnell at moe.down 7 in September. The moe.down website has also shed some light on McConnells new project:

This project began in February of 2005 when Page began working on his forthcoming studio album. During the next 16 months he wrote the lyrics and music, recorded in several studios and produced a complete album that includes guest performances by rock & roll legend Jim Keltner, guitarist Adam Zimmon of the Spam Allstars and Shakira, engineer/ musician Jared Slomoff as well as members of Phish. The band performing at moe.down was assembled specifically for this event and includes former bandmate Jon Fishman, Adam Zimmon, Jared Slomoff and Rob O’Dea, one of Burlington, VT’s finest bass players.
