On Friday, the Acoustic Planet tour came to a close at Cary, NCs Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park. For this performance, Marc Broussard rejoined the traveling package, inviting guitarist Jake Cinninger and percussionist Andy Farag onstage for a song during his opening set. During Umphreys McGees show, Victor Wooten showed-up a few songs early, playing bass on Soul Food I. Soon after, Bela Fleck appeared, playing banjo on End of the Road. Near the end of Umphreys McGees set, all the Flecktones gradually reappeared, using Roulette to segue into their headlining spot. During the Flecktones performance, Cinninger, Brendan Bayliss, Joel Cummins and Kris Myers reappeared during Stomping Grounds. Each of the evenings performers then returned during the Flecktones encore, closing out this run with all-star versions of Little Wing, Monkee See and Don’t Change Horses. Umphreys McGee will perform with Joshua Redman at Bean Blossom, INs F.U.N.K. Fest Friday, while the Flecktones will appear at Pittsburgh , PAs Byham Auditorium Mellon Jazz Series on September 12. Tonight, Myers will appear with Sticky Lupree at Chicagos Webster Wine Bar .
