Tonight at 11PM, XM Satellite Radio’s weekly radio program Live at BJ’s (Beyond Jazz, Channel 72) will feature recent live performances from New Monsoon and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The Family Band set is augmented by a guest appearance from John Mayer.

‘We are big supporters of satellite radio, and we are extremely pleased that we will be featured on XM Beyond Jazz’ said New Monsoon drummer Marty Ylitalo, ‘So many people come up to us on the road, saying they heard our music on satellite radio. We very much look forward to hearing our tunes in a live setting on XM.’
This episode represents a hybrid of sorts between the weekly Live at BJs program and the popular Jammin’ Jazz program hosted by Michelle Sammartino. The latter show airs three times a week (including tomorrow morning at 9AM) and features some of the most jazz-informed artists from the jamband genre and they come to life live on the former program tonight.
New Monsoon’s upcoming dates include a stop at the Suede Nightclub in Park City this evening and three shows in Colorado this weekend, one of which is at the gorgeous Mishewaka Amphitheater (Saturday night). NM will also perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival September 17 and open for moe. at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco September 22. Randolph and The Family Band still has 11 dates left with the Dave Matthews Band, with an appearance at Jazz Aspen plopped in the middle on September 2. Report by Rob Turner
