On Friday, Bob Weir made a surprise appearance with the group Jelly Californias the Larkspur Theatre Cafe. The sextet features longtime Weir associate John Stewball Stewart, who first performed with the guitarist back in 1986. Weir joined Jelly for a number of familiar songs, including China Cat Sunflower, I Know Your Rider and Deal. On September 4 Weir and RatDog also made an unannounced appearance at private party in San Francisco. During the groups set, Grammy winning producer Narada Michael Walden also played drums on All Along the Watchtower. RatDogs fall tour will kickoff October 20 at Chicagos Riviera Theatre.
