One final weekend report has recently crossed the Jambands.com news desk. On Saturday, the Drive-by Truckers performed a show at Charleston, SC’s Charleston Music & Heritage Festival. The multi-band gathering also featured performances by Al Green, Buddy Guy, Sam Bush and Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, among many other bands. Late in the evening, Drive-By Truckers guitarist Jason Isbell stopped by Papa Grows Funk’s performance at Charleston, SC’s The Pour House, performing on Chuck Berry’s ‘Johnny B. Goode.’ During their set, the members of Papa Grows Funk also invited out Ian and Ivan Neville for the Mardi Gras staples ‘Ain’t No Use’ and ‘People Say,’ while Tony Hall appeared on ‘Come Together.’ The Drive-by Truckers will appear at Northampton, MA’s Pearl Street tonight, while Papa Grows Funk will hit New Orleans’ Le Bon Temps Roule Friday.
