Big city growth and inflating real estate has run Nashville’s riverfront bar, Windows on the Cumberland, out of the towns lower Broadway-area . Windows and its owner, Boots Hill, have helped countless bands come through the ranks over the past two decades.
As a tribute, last night a number of the clubs alumni stopped by to jam with former New Groove of the Month Old Union during one of the clubs final nights.

Throughout the night, Chef Dave, Randy Boen (of mile 8), Jason Graumlich (Foggy Bottom Band, Levi Gunn and the Strange Angels), Randy Russell (Ballhog!), Johnny Few ( JoJo’s Mojo Mardi Gras Band) and manager Chris Bledose filtered onto the stage. During setbreak, Nashville’s Foggy Bottom Band also offered a rare reunion performance. Old Union will perform at Nashvilles Mercy Lounge on October 6, 2006.
The Chef Dave Band will also hit the road this weekend, beginning Saturday with a performance at Tuscaloosa, ALs The Booth. Chef Dave will also support Particle at Nashvilles Exit In on October 1 and at the Rhythm & Brews on October 2. Johnny Neel will also play keyboards with the group in Louisville, KY (10/25-26), Maumee, OH (10/27) and Garrettsville, OH (10/28).
