Trey Anastasio kicked off his fall tour in support of Bar 17 Sunday with a two night stand at New Yorks Webster Hall. As previously reported, ARU/Phil and Friends drummer Jeff Sipe is subbing this tour for Raymond Weber, who recently faced an abrupt and serious case of appendicitis. In addition, this incarnation of the Trey Anastasio Band features Tony Hall (bass), Ray Paczkowski (organ, keyboards), Jeff Sipe (drums), Christina Durfee (vocals, synthesizer) and Jennifer Hartswick (vocals, trumpet). On both Sunday and Monday Anastasio brought out Dan Hart, who conducted and arranged the strings on Bar 17, to lead a string quintet through a number of his originals (the most intriguing of which wereThe Divided Sky and a sandwich combining Guyute and My Friend My Friend). Longtime Phish lyricist Tom Marshall also supplied vocals on a version of his Amfibian original Skip The Goodbyes Sunday.

The Trey Anastasio Band will perform at Philadelphias Electric Factory Wednesday.
