The 2007 edition of MerleFest will take place from April 26-29 at Wilkesboro, NCs Wilkes Community College. Originally established by Doc Watson as tribute to his late son Merle, MerleFest has aged into a southeast bluegrass tradition over the past two decades. The festivals 20th anniversary lineup will feature Elvis Costello, Del McCoury Band, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Peter Rowan & Tony Rice Quartet Sam Bush, Blue Highway; Cherryholmes; John Cowan Band, Donna The Buffalo, Jerry Douglas, The Duhks, B Fleck, Paul Geremia, John Hammond, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Darrell Scott, Earl Scruggs with Family & Friends, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Pam Tillis and The Waybacks, among others. Of course, Watson and his son Richard Watson will also perform.
