Umphreys McGee is currently in the midst of an extended west coast tour . While on the left coast, the group linked up with a few friends its made on the festival circuit over the past few years. On Thursday the sextet performed at Portland, ORs Roseland Theater where Perpetual Grooves Brock Butler, who is also in the middle of a west coast outing, replaced Brendan Bayliss on guitar for a cover of the Talking Heads Making Flippy Floppy. A few days later, the group performed at Hollywoods Avalon on Saturday and California trumpeter Willie Waldman appeared on The Triple Wide.

Before leaving for their current tour, Bayliss and Umphreys McGee percussionist Andy Farag also performed in their hometown with Cornmeal at Chicagos Martyrs. The duo enhanced on a number of classic-rock covers as part of a USTORM benefit show which featured members of Jack Straw and Mr. Blotto. Umphreys McGee will perform at San Diego, CAs House of Blues tonight.
