moe. returned to the stage this weekend despite Al Schniers struggle with severe tendonitis. On Friday the Assembly of Dust opened for the quartet at Sayreville, NJs Strarland Ballroom and lent its keyboard, Nate Wilson, to moe. for its second set (longtime moe. associate Kirk Juhas played keyboards throughout the groups first set). AOD axe-man Adam Terrell also performed with moe. at various points throughout its show, including on 32 Things, Lazarus, The Pit, Meat, Don’t Fuck With Flo, Timmy Tucker, and Can’t You Hear Me Knocking. God Street Wine guitarist Lo Faber, who is currently studying in nearby Princeton, NJ, subbed for Schnier at the same venue a night later, performing on such numbers as Brent Black, St. Augustine, Waiting For The Punchline, Happy Hour Hero, and Mexico, among others. Rob Salzer, who opened the evenings festivities with U-Melt, also sat in on guitar for ‘Lost Along The Way,’ ‘Rebubula,’ Radioheads Paranoid Android and the Bands The Weight during moe.s show (earlier in the evening Chuck Garvey made his first appearance with the former New Groove of the Month on its Air). In addition, Schnier picked up a guitar for the end portion of Recreational Chemistry before scurrying into the audience to catch his first moe. show.

After AODs opening set, Terrell and Wilson performed with moe. for most of its show Sunday at Baltimore, MDs Rams Head Live as well, while Reid Genaur emerged for Cripple Creek and moe.s guitar tech Frank tried his hand at Opium. moe. will perform at the Chicago Theatre on November 24.
