Deadheads and Parrotheads mingled Saturday night in Las Vegas. While in town performing at Vegoose with the Rhythm Devils, Mickey Hart ventured over to Sin Citys infamous strip where Jimmy Buffet was performing at the MGM Grand. Buffet, who regularly performs Grateful Dead songs during his set, then invited Hart onstage to play percussion for on a version of Scarlet Begonias. The Rhythm Devils Sunday performance at Vegoose featured a mix of Dead and Phish staples, including the Rift-classic The Wedge. The group will return to the road for a benefit performance at San Franciscos the Warfield on December 1.
Jambands.com and Relix also spent the weekend at the second annual Vegoose Music Festival. On the heels of the Bonnaroo Beacon and the Randalls Island Satellite, we also produced the festivals official daily newspaper, The Golden Goose. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we are happy to offer the both editions online.
