On Saturday, the newest incarnation of the New Riders of the Purple Sage performed at a Rex Foundation benefit held at the New York Society for Ethical Culture. Throughout the groups set, Jerry Garcia/ Tony Trischka collaborator Kenny Kosek played fiddle, enhancing such numbers as Lonesome L.A. Cowboy, Henry, and Panama Red.

At the end of the groups first set, Zen Tricksters guitarist Jeff Mattson also appeared on
Garden Of Eden and Dead Flowers, later returning for the majority of the groups second set.

Last week, Godchauxs husband, Heart of Gold band bassist David MacKay, also appeared with the collective at Birmingham, ALs Zydeco on Goin’ to Florence.
