Cold War Kids, who are featured in the December/January issue of Relix, will go bi-coastal in January. The group will perform both a Friday residency in Los Angeles and a Wednesday residency in New York throughout the month, commuting cross-country between gigs. As of now, the groups plans include stops in such LA clubs as the Open Bookstore (1/5), Silverlake Lounge (1/12), and Spaceland (1/19). The group will also perform at a number of New York venues, including Pianos (1/10), Union Hall (1/17), and the Mercury Lounge (1/24). In addition, December marks the opening of bass player/group designer Matt Maust’s art show in Los Angeles. Titled ‘I’m celebrating my love for you with a pint of beer and a new tattoo’, the show opens December 2 at The Orphanage Gallery and is set to run for three weeks. The show is comprised of 30 pieces of art, including the original art from both the US and European releases of Cold War Kids robbers & cowards.
